WC for the senses in the Sauerland Park Hemer equipped by KEUCO
KEUCO fascinated visitors to the Landesgartenschau Hemer with the “WC of the Senses”. As the theme sponsor of the Landesgartenschau, KEUCO handed over the public toilets in the Park der Sinne for the celebratory opening in 2010. This year, the “WC of the senses” was completely renovated by Sauerlandpark Hemer GmbH and local companies. The architecture remained, but the installations, wall and floor coverings, etc. have been replaced. The design idea came from the Hemeran-based company KEUCO, a manufacturer of high-quality bathroom equipment. Since its opening - at the time still as a state garden show - the Sauerland Park has been equipped with products and supported time and again by KEUCO.
From the outside, the system blends in with the surroundings with its wooden facade and green doors. From the inside, the design is once again a highlight in the area of public toilets. With the “WC of the Senses”, visitors to the Sauerland Park can expect a public toilet system that has been individually designed and staged by KEUCO to appeal to the senses and emotions of park visitors. Colour and light effects play an equally important role as pleasant sounds and pictures from nature.
The “WC of the senses” is located in the middle of nature, surrounded by lots of flowers and plants. The beehive is right next door. The design continues the interior environment: A wooden floor and green wall tiles were chosen to match. A luminous leafy sky, birdsong, the knocking of the spear and the rattling of the leaves in the wind - the “WC of the senses” lives up to its name.
The men’s, women’s and disabled toilets were fully equipped with KEUCO fittings, accessories, sinks, lights and mirrors. The disabled toilet also offers plenty of space for a changing table. This meant that many large and small park visitors were able to enjoy the new design in the summer.
